(p.o.v - Ville)
He groaned softly as the sunlight began to crawl across his face. Draping an arm over his face, in an attempt to block the light, he tried to let sleep overtake him again. However, as the minutes passed and the sun continued to shine brightly, an attempts at sleeping failed quickly. With a frustrated sigh, he removed his arm and turned his face from the light. With a couple of blinks, his eyes adjusted themselves and he was ready to wake up. Stretching his arms above his head, he began to push himself into a sitting position.
With a scratch to the back of his neck, his eyes slowly scanned the room he was within. The night before he had spent most of it outside just thinking, then he ended up back in Bam’s room. Even with reasons of his own, he really couldn’t explain on why he had picked Bam’s room over the guestroom. Was he really more comfortable around Bam then he thought he was? With his right hand, he pulled the blankets off of his body; allowing himself to climb off of the bed. While yawning softly, he slowly crossed the room to the door and carefully pulled it open. Once in the hallway, he pulled the door closed then made his way to the kitchen.
Last night he had eaten little, and now his stomach was arguing with him as a result from the lack of food. Telling himself he would just eat enough to pleasure his appetite, then get ready to go back to the hospital. As he continued through the silent house, which was still odd to him, he was able to hear soft chattering as he came closer to the kitchen. He found the voices belonged to April and Ryan; both were sitting at the island, drinking coffee. “Morning Ville.” April’s gentle voice reached his ear, showing they had noticed his entrance to the kitchen.
“Morning.” he forced out, not in a bitter way, but softly for he really did not want to talk to anyone. Dunn only gave him a little nod of understanding. Men always, or most of the time, knew what other men were think or knew their actions.
“Would you like something to eat?” April questioned as he made his way over to the coffee pot.
Pulling out a mug from the cabinet in front of him, he began to pour himself some. “Something little please.” Ville answered, keeping his back to them, while he picked up his drink.
“Okay, I can do that. I still have some batter left from the pancakes I made.” April stated as she climbed from her seat.
As Ville turned on his heels at her words, he noticed the two used dishes on the island. “Just a couple sounds good.” he reply with a soft, but there, smile.
Seeing his smile made her smile bigger. Without another word, she walked over to the stove and began her cooking. “Are you going back?” she asked after a couple seconds of silence.
Ville paused the coffee mug at his lips when he heard her question. “Yeah, I was planning on making a trip up there after breakfast.” he answered gentle before finishing his task of taking a sip of his coffee. Not another word was spoken about Bam or his trip back to the hospital. If a conversation did start, it was just a little non important subjects. Just those ones you might start to kill any awkward silence between people.
After April had set a plate with a couple small pancakes upon it, he slowly began to eat at them. He knew if he didn’t eat it slowly, his stomach would disagree with it and send it back up. Surprising himself, he finished everything on the plate and was able to hold it down. So after tell April thank you, he placed the plate within the sink and excused himself from the kitchen. Then heading back in the direction he had originally came from, he returned to Bam’s room. After a quick change of clothes, he gathered just simple belongings he might need; wallet, cigarettes and lighter, cellphone and other miscellaneous objects. Grabbing his jacket off of a chair within the room, he stepped out of the room and walked to the front foyer. Since Ryan had offered him a ride to the hospital, he was already waiting for him.
The ride was silent as Dunn drove to the hospital. The two had always been awkward around each other whenever Bam wasn’t around. Why? Dunn was Bam’s best friend in the States, while Ville held the same title overseas. So when together, they were awkward because neither wanted to fight over who’s attention Bam received. However, minus all of that, they still were slight friends and could hold a friendly conversation, but it was just weird without Bam there.
A half hour later, Ville found himself walking back down a familiar hallway. Retracing familiar steps as he got closer to Bam’s room. As the room came into view, he noticed that the door was open so he knew that someone was in there with him. Finally his feet came to a stop at the door as he peered inside. Just as he stuck his head into the room, he almost ran into the person that was leaving the room. It was just one of Bam’s doctors, doing a morning checkup. The doctor said his excuses before continuing on his way.
Not bothering to watch the doctor step away, Ville quickly entered the room. The need of being next to Bam quickly overwhelmed him. Seeing that someone had indeed moved his chair, he carefully placed it back in it’s rightful spot, next to the bed. Repeating his actions from yesterday, he leaned forward and placed a gentle kiss upon Bam’s forehead. Then taking Bam’s right hand in his own, he seated himself in the chair. Finding a comfortable position within the chair, he brought his attention back to the young man laying in front of him. As he studied him, his mind began to wonder what was going on within Bam’s head. What could be keeping him from waking up? He always heard that most patients in a coma usually were in just a battle with their own minds. If that was true, what was Bam fighting to keep him from waking?
