Chapter 6
(p.o.v = can't give it away)
Have you ever had that feeling that someone was watching you? Even when you’re dead asleep. Yet somehow you just know, and it kills you because you want to do two things. One, just continue sleeping. Two, wake up and see what is causing your uneasiness. However, as you will your body to continue choice number one, you mind tends too choose choice number two and wake up to the world around you.
A soft, muffled groan left his body as he felt his body begin to wake. Lifting his face off of the pillow, since he had been sleeping on his stomach, he turned it to his left before resting it back on the pillow. Just with that soft movement of his head continued to kill the headache he was quickly waking too. As he began to think about it, his whole body felt like it had been hit by a car. Groaning softly again, he began to slowly open his eyes to greet the world that awaited him. As he blinked his eyes a couple of times to get them to focus, he instantly found himself staring into a familiar set of emerald green eyes. However, the eyes did not belong to a familiar figure but to one where their nose had reached to top of the bed, so all he saw was from the nose and up.
Instantly he jumped into a sitting position as he tried to figure out why a kid was within his bedroom. In return, the little kid jumped away from the bed as well; frightened at his sudden movements. “Do you always watch people as they sleep?” he questioned slightly grumpy. Immediately he began to regret his tone as he watched a sadden expression fall upon the little girl’s face.
Within the matter of seconds, a pout formed on her lips before her little legs let her race out of the bedroom. “Daddy!” He was able to hear her whine as she raced down the hallway.
As he continued to sit on the bed, he slowly brought his hand to his head. How much did he drink last night to make him feel like this? His mind questioned as he looked around himself slowly to find the time. It took a couple of seconds before he realized that he wasn’t within his own room. Ignoring his headache, he quickly jumped off of the bed as he tried to figure out where he was, but he just kept drawing a blank. Everything until this moment in time, he couldn’t remember. As he continued to try and think of something, he never noticed a figure step up to the open door and lean against its frame. “You seem lost.” a deep voice spoke, causing him to stop everything his was doing.
Pulling his gaze forward, they finally landed on a familiar figure. “Ville?” he questioned softly. “What are you doing here? I thought you were in Finland?” he asked the questions quickly, while not paying much attention to them as he spoke them aloud.
Ville listened to his question, but only confusion fell onto his face. “Bam,” Ville started slowly. “How much did you drink last night?” he questioned carefully as he pushed himself off of the door frame before inching into the bedroom.
Bam quickly lost himself in his thoughts again as he tried to think about the night before. A frown found his lips as he gaze fell to the floor. “I can’t remember.” his answer left his lips in an almost whisper.

The only sound he could hear within the silent room was the constant steady beeping around him. For the longest time he had been sitting in a extremely uncomfortable chair, but he did not care. The chair had been pulled as close to the bed as possible, and he had his arms resting on the bed in front of him. His arms were only on the bed because of the hand he was holding that was laying on top of that bed. Barely he could make out an audible sound of soft breathing.
He tried to rack his brain on a reason to what was going on. To what had brought him here in the first place, but he couldn’t. Only because at the same time his mind was trying to recollect all of things that had happened in the last almost a full days worth of hours. Starting at a phone call and ending at the doctors words.
Starting from the pale fingers that were interlocked with his own, he trailed his eyes up the pale arm until they landed on the face of his best friend. A once tan complexion, was now pale from the lack of blood. He did not know how this had happened, but he did know the results that it had put his friend in. Sighing softly, he lowered his head and placed it on the cool sheets.
(yes, this part was from the prologue but I was going to end up using it within the story, aka now)
“Ville?” he heard a soft voice call his name from behind him.
Lifting his head off of the bed, he turned slightly in his chair to look at who had called his name. It was April. “Yes?” he asked softly.
After she heard him reply, she slowly started to inch into the room. “How are you doing?” she questioned tenderly as she continued to make her way over to him.
“I do not know.” he answered honestly as he turned back to face the man laying on the hospital bed. “I just do not understand why something like this had to happen to him.” he added softly as he lowered his eyes to the hand he held in his own.
April couldn’t help but be touched by Ville’s words. “Sometimes things just don’t have an explanation or reason to why they happen.” she replied softly as she came to a stop behind his chair. Carefully she raised her hands and placed them gently upon his shoulders. Silence fell amongst the two of them.
Ville relaxed under her hands as she continued to comfort him. He began to feel slightly greedy at her actions. He should be the one comforting her, not vice versa. It was, after all, her son lay unconscious on the bed in front of them. “How’s Jess doing?” he found himself asking quietly.
“He’s awake. I just came from visiting him. I was hoping Bam would be awake by the time I came back in here.” April answered as Ville slowly raised his right hand and placed it upon her left hand, which was on top of his left shoulder. She then became silent, and he was able to hear her sniffle softly. Before he could think about his actions, he had climbed out of his chair and had wrapped his arms around her delicate frame. He continued to hold onto her as she began to cry again, since it defiantly wasn’t the first time today that she had. His heart began to slowly break as he held the woman that had treated him like one of her own sons, while at the same time allowing him to treat her like a mother of his own.
