I'm in NC for the rest of the (holiday) weekend. I didn't realize last week when I made plans to return this weekend that there was a holiday, but it means I have an extra day here, instead of just running up and down the highway. I'm in NC again to take Mom to Chemo tomorrow morning.
On the way here I saw:

• a billboard for North Carolina Watermelons.
  It must have been there on my previous trips, unnoticed by me. I can't imagine putting that up in October.
  
• a speed trap in an underpass.

Mom watches a lot of TV. In the afternoon she watches those "Judge" shows - Judge Judy, Judge Joe Brown, Divorce Court, Judge Alex. There were 3 cases today with people who should have backed up their computers ( Read more... )

We went out and took some pictures of the snow.

I shoveled my Mom's sidewalk and driveway, and shook as much snow as I could off the lower limbs of the magnolia trees.

I'm going to try to head back to VA this evening. I have to be at work Monday afternoon.

The forecasts said this storm was going to pass south of us, but it's 16.5°F (-8.6°C) and snowing pretty good.[12:15] I've just been out to clear the sidewalks. It's a powdery snow (so far) that sweeps off easily. If there were any wind, it would be blowing all over.
