I often haven't felt like going anywhere and dealing with crowds on Independence Day. Our fireworks have been going up on the roof and seeing what we can see. anniemal hasn't gone up the ladder for years. And every year the trees around us are bigger, and block more of the view.

Bike to Work Day is back - Friday, May 21.
Socially Distanced.Convoys will not be part of the 2021 event due to COVID. Convoys will return in 2022.

I biked into DC this afternoon. I had not been on the bike since the end of November.

I tried my first Covid night jaunt. I was working (from home) until 23:00, and it was 23:45 when I left. I did the same ride as Sunday, out the W&OD trail to Hunter Mill Rd (a few miles beyond Vienna) and back. It was about 50°F/10°C, fine with a jacket and long tights. It was still a bit windy. I didn't take any photos in March. After the first week we were working from home, so I wasn't going anyplace, and most days I didn't even get outside. So there wasn't anything saying "Take my picture!"

Country after country are discovering people sick with COVID-19 and imposing lockdowns. Why aren't they getting it? By the time people know they are sick they have been infected for weeks. I tried to go for a 40mi (64km) ride 2 weeks ago, but the weather (light rain) turned me back at 15 miles for a 30mi (48km) total. I gave it another go today, and went 42.13mi (67.8km).
