Hey, I am working on a Halloween costume that is Steampunk. I'm sewing it myself. I am working off of the Simplicity 2172 pattern and am currently working on the skirt. I have the jacket done. Tonight I listed this jacket on Etsy. It is made after a pattern from 1908 from la Mode Ilustree. Historical patterns work great for costumes and stylisch outfits.  It could work really nice in a steampunk outfit I think. Click on the picture to go to the listing.

I am new to Steampunk, and am starting to rework my wedding dress into a Steampunk Ensemble.

I attended the Steampunk World's Fair last weekend, and was excited and overwhelmed by the possibilities!  
I wore my dress to SPWF so I could try things on with it and figure out what I want to do, and I have a pretty good idea, but would like some advice.

I was hoping someone could offer some suggestions... I purchased a wonderful, long, floor length dress (I assume it was a dress tho it does open all the way in the front). I bought it to be a coat.
