Thank you so much for all the advice about how to proceed with this costume.
I did some serious revamping, threw some stuff out, added other stuff, and came up with this. (My husband is not super amazing with the camera, a thousand apologies.)
My birthday is next Tuesday (no lie; for real) and I'd like to offer a free pattern that day but who knows which would be wanted? Not me. So I'll send the decision over to you and on Valentine's Day one of them will be available for free for 24hrs.

This year's Steampunk in the Park, our annual steampunk potluck picnic will be held on Sunday, March 25th, 2012. This is a completely free event open to anyone who wants to show up and is held once a year in Atlanta's Piedmont Park.
