Well, it looks like my effigy pair of bodies will be an almost completely stash using garment. The only parts I've had to buy so far, was the reeds. I've found white silk taffeta that is usable as a binding. I also found white satin poly if the white taffeta doesn't work for some reason, or if I must, bind it in red silk shantung, all from my hat ( Read more... )

Ok, I did the cut, slash, fold, and open on the darted sloper, following the advice margorose gave, and found that it nearly matched the pattern I ended up with!! So yeah for confirmation of my unorthodox method. Well, I tried the book method, and realized that wasn't working for me. So, I went with my gut instinct instead, breaking rules I am sure. But I have a decent looking pattern that seems to look similar to the effigy pattern. ( rest under here... )
