Effigy part whatever...

Well, it looks like my effigy pair of bodies will be an almost completely stash using garment. The only parts I've had to buy so far, was the reeds. I've found white silk taffeta that is usable as a binding. I also found white satin poly if the white taffeta doesn't work for some reason, or if I must, bind it in red silk shantung, all from my hat fabric stash (which is mostly small yardage remnants, which is why I didn't see them in my fabric book).

The pattern is now adjusted, again, back to the original trim line for the front, which gives it the amount of compression I wanted. I also realized that the method I used actually does not curve the bottom at the waist like both the book & margorose's method does, which means my lower stomach extension piece (the part in center front that goes over the tummy area) remained on the straight of grain, while the pivot method would have it angle to match the new front angle, and that is not how I see the Arnold pattern. This is interesting to me, although I don't know if what I am doing then is what the Tudor tailors did, or what. Well... it works, it looks like what I am going for, it fits (so far), so I am ready for the fabric marking and cutting. If this is not the right method, I will learn that in the wearing as I am going for it now.

So, now the light blue damask fabric is in the washer, the coutil is in the dryer, the reed samples are in the water soaking (for the tester pieces to determine size of sewing channels needed), and my son needs me to wash his back. So, more on all this later tonight.
