So we saw the latest Sarah Jane Adventures, which we quite liked.  The kids have improved as actors (not that they were bad to begin with), and I gotta say, ( spoiler! )

I finally got around to making some stations on Pandora.com.  It makes such complete sense.  I'm sitting here dividing them up according to musical era: baroque, classical, romantic, modern...  And one devoted to such bands as the Newsboys.  Heh ( Read more... )

So I bought the new cut of Stargate SG-1's pilot, "Children of the Gods", that came out this year.  And on the whole I liked it.  Several cringe-inducing moments have been removed, and I'd swear there's bits of scenes that have been restored, 'cause I'm fairly certain there had not previously been a bit on Abydos when Jack's team joins Daniel & Co ( Read more... )

I'm always mildly curious about the different networks my laptop's wifi can detect when I send it searching.  Especially around home.  There are a grand total of ten wifi networks available to me in my bedroom, three of which are unsecured, and one of those I pick up at full strength.  :-)  Good thing ours is secured.  But I do wonder who else is ( Read more... )

Saw Stargate: Continuum last night.  It was way fun.  Like a particularly good, particularly long episode, well told and paced, and full of the charm that makes me love the show so much.  And we saw, like, everybody!  Even if it was for only seconds at the beginning or something!  Even ( SPOILERS )

Don S. Davis passed away on Sunday of a heart attack.

If you don't know the name, he was a character actor with roles in all kinds of stuff, but the one I know him from was Lieutenant General George Hammond in Stargate SG-1.  He was fantastic in the role, as a gruff and no-nonsense military man, but kindhearted, intelligent, and always willing to ( Read more... )

My collection of choral work recordings is getting bigger.  Z handed out practice CDs for our upcoming concert, and included were "Wake Up Ollie Brown", "Worthy To Be Praised", "Ani Ma'amin", and "Praise God's Holy Name."
