Dad: Do you have my ADHD book?
Me: (after racking brains, wondering if I'd borrowed it and lent it to a friend) Not that I can remember.
Dad: Found it, under a pile.

ADHD? Us?

I've built two "cat shelves" for Jules. They consist of particle-board, a couple of steel brackets, some carpet samples, and a lot of nailing and gluing. Pretty sure they'll hold up even if Jules ends up huge. (He's at least six pounds now, and his paws are still too big for him, so he's got a way to go yet.) He's shown interest in climbing. Yesterday I suddenly remembered something. I don't mean like "Oh yeah, I forgot to do such-and-such." I mean, an old memory was dredged up that I'd forgotten ever happened. There's this news article about a family that's trying to raise their child without revealing its sex, until such time as the child chooses to reveal it.  They're giving the usual argument about gender roles and how restrictive they are and how they believe their child should make those decisions itself.

It's May 9th and it's 95F outside.  (That's about 33C.)  I've turned on the air conditioning.  It's like we skipped spring and went straight into summer.

I didn't know Osama bin Laden had been killed until this morning, when I saw the local newspaper sitting on a table in the office.  The headline said "JUSTICE" in three-inch print.
