My collection of choral work recordings is getting bigger.  Z handed out practice CDs for our upcoming concert, and included were "Wake Up Ollie Brown", "Worthy To Be Praised", "Ani Ma'amin", and "Praise God's Holy Name."

Still really want to find "The Awakening".  In SATB, please. Argh.

In the vein of CD tracks and compilations, I want to put together a playlist of New Who music that includes all the fun tracks and leaves out the ones that I never pay much attention to.  Like "The Lone Dalek" or "Martha's Quest."  Or "Rose's Theme".  Which is no commentary on the subjects of said songs, but if I want to listen to "Rose's Theme", I really prefer the lovely arrangement used in "Madame du Pompadour."  And Martha has the completely awesome "Martha's Theme" and so doesn't need some mediochre track to water down said awesome.  That's the thing about soundtracks, though: you get a lot of repeating themes.  The worst I ever really heard was the soundtrack to The Aviator, which, I swear, is the same five minutes of music over and over and over again.

Bought Stargate: The Ark of Truth yesterday.  Haven't watched it yet as Amy and I really must watch it together.  I have missed the joy that is Stargate SG-1!  Has it really been a year?

Oh, and in the world of music geekery:  string theory meets music theory and begets PURE AWESOME.  No, seriously.  This guy took physics and math and music and figured out how chords and chord progressions are related.  ::dies of geek squee::  I want to see the software he wrote take on Bach.  Or Mozart.

You know what's nice?  Realizing that the most distressing thing about one's currently life is something entirely to do with tea.  Which is also a bit boring, but I don't suppose my life will stay this uneventful for too long, so one must enjoy the idea when one can.

awesomeness, music, doctor who, tea, stargate, tv
