Technically he still has like a week and a half left of his residency, but I guess they have figured out at the hospital that if they wait until AFTER residency ends, they won't be able to get all the residents together in one place for a graduation ceremony, because everyone will be flying to the winds to their new jobs. So I went to the doctor today and was diagnosed with allergy-induced cough-variant asthma, for which I was put on Prednisone and two inhalers. I've been coughing for well over a month. I hope this kills it. She also told me that my excessively dry and cracking lips are due to a vitamin D and Zinc deficiency, so I picked up some supplements at the ( Read more... )

I totally didn't see Easter coming this year. We don't really "celebrate" Easter at our house. When Dominic was really little we did the whole Easter basket thing, and all that, but these days... well, it's just too much effort and it seems like no point. Our friend Katie lives in Boston. Well, in Brookline, but it's close enough. She was in Dan's class in podiatry school and is doing her residency at Beth Israel. We go into the city to hang out with her every few months--it's never often enough and we always say we need to do it again sooner, but then schedules get in the way. Alas ( Read more... )

Last night we went to Lisa and Melissa's house (a married couple we know who live over by Worcester, about 40 minutes away. One of them is a nurse at the hospital where Dan works, which is how we know them) for dinner and to meet the 5 kittens that they're fostering. So we leave today (in a few hours) to fly to Atlanta, from where we will drive, along with much of Dan's family and many of their friends, to Mobile, Alabama and board a ship. So I was looking at the Growing Up slideshow that I made for our wedding DVD, and I realized that I'd scanned a bunch of pictures into the computer for that, but hadn't uploaded them to my gallery!
