I haven't been very good at writing in my journal lately. A lot has been going on. I went to Tennessee to visit my dad in September, and to train him on using his new website. I had a good and productive visit. When I got back, the next day, my mom flew back to NH from AZ to help me close up the cottage and then drive to Atlanta with the 3 cats. ( Read more... )

I was in the backseat, so I couldn't see why. I lean toward the middle so I could see out the front, and there was a fox in the road.

So apparently a mouse had nested in one of my mom's folding chairs in the shed, and when she brought the chair into the house, the mouse ran off into Dominic's room. She said she thought it was a vole. So just a few minutes ago there was this little squeak from the corner here in the living room, where I am working on the manuscript I'm editing ( Read more... )

So I went to the doctor today and was diagnosed with allergy-induced cough-variant asthma, for which I was put on Prednisone and two inhalers. I've been coughing for well over a month. I hope this kills it. She also told me that my excessively dry and cracking lips are due to a vitamin D and Zinc deficiency, so I picked up some supplements at the ( Read more... )

I totally didn't see Easter coming this year. We don't really "celebrate" Easter at our house. When Dominic was really little we did the whole Easter basket thing, and all that, but these days... well, it's just too much effort and it seems like no point. I had a pretty productive day. I did the dishes and wiped down the counters, finished some laundry, painted the edges of two canvases for the show black (the print of "Being Art" and also "Pixie's Itch" both still had white edges, which is a no-no for hanging in a gallery). So last night we went to the next-door neighbors' house for their NYE party. We had a great time, and since we just had to walk one house over to get home, we drank more than we typically would, too (at least I did). Wednesday at work we had our departmental holiday party. I brought a broccoli casserole which was 90% eaten and some homemade fudge which was about 75% eaten, so I guess I chose well enough.
