Yesterday N. rode his bicycle all around the woods behind our neighbourhood. A. says that at one point he thought N. was going to wreck, but he braked just enough to skid slightly (in the gravel!) and managed to keep it upright. Tuesday evening, I spent an hour in the dark looking everywhere for Madeline (everywhere but where she was, obviously). Wednesday morning, I was running late for various reasons and had to walk quickly for the bus. This made The Foot hurt so badly that I essentially boycotted walking for the rest of the day Wednesday. With the change in the weather, The Foot has decided to hurt more. I don't know what else to do for it - I've got the anti-inflamatory bandage that I change 2x/day, I do PT a lot, I try to rest it as much as I can... it is just taking forever to get better. I went to see my surgeon today, the guy who had fused my foot joint in Sept. 2000. He remembered me with absolutely no prompting, which I find astonishing and terrific. He took an X-ray or two of my foot to make sure I hadn't stress-fractured it, and decided that we needed to treat it with topical pain-killers (a patch/sticker with the pain ( Read more... )
