I just got back from a cross-campus errand that ate up my entire morning. I caught the bus there, but of course missed it coming back. That turned out OK, though, since I walked back through the Gardens with lots of happy children running around. Yet another day has gone by when I feel like I didn't accomplish anything.
I have, I'm sure, but it just doesn't feel like it. I hate that feeling.

A project that I'm very peripherally involved in got sort-of mentioned in a White House speech today.

Today, my mom-in-law came to lunch, as she does every thursday. But since we are in the fabulous new office space with a spacious front lawn, we spread out a picnic blanket and had an idyllic picnic in front of said house. $WEB_DEVELOPER can hear my officemate, but he can't hear $WEB_DEV, so I get to relay back and forth, as I'm sitting between them. It's getting silly.

So the office move has been postponed. This immediately caused me to quit cleaning my desk, in spite of having found a pin that says 'I raised THe WoRLD's GReATesT KiD!!' and one of the ornaments the U. gives out at holiday time (2008). Today, I gave a mostly spontaneous presentation to 40+ people at our monthly departmental meeting. It went just fine. I got good questions, gave good answers, and made the boss and the dean happy.
