So I've been playing FFXIII... very slowly. I'm currently about 10 hours in, part-way through Chapter 4, and seem to have just unlocked the last of the major game-play systems. But most people who care are way ahead of me, so instead of the game I'm going to talk about toys.

There was a con! It was largely fun. Though there were a few growing pains, the much *much* larger space of the Raleigh Convention Center was certainly a boon for Animazement. You could get around without running into people! Awesome ( Read more... )

So yesterday on the way home from work, some bits of my car decided to come loose and half-disintegrate themselves against the freeway pavement. Fun times. On inspection when I got home, I found plastic panels under the engine had come half-unbolted. They were too far gone to salvage, so I just cut them off with gardening shears to keep things ( Read more... )

Just got back from seeing akiko's family in Maryland. It was a fun trip overall. Let's see, we went out for dinner with her sister one night (to the Dogfish Head Ale House, where I got a yummy "martini" made of Chambord, Grand Marnier and pineapple).
