Captain Kirk is climbing the mountain; why is he climbing the mountain?

Dragon Connnnnnnnnnnnnnnn! Is over.

Haven't touched the internet since Thursday morning (IM'd tweets notwithstanding) so am of course crushingly behind on everything. Also on sleep. So here's a super-condensed list of awesome things from D*C:

- Shared room with donaithnen and chalgaryn; was great seeing both of them.

- Saw Terry Gilliam, who pimped the upcoming Dr. Parnassus, which I now quite want to see. Also apparently they're starting back up work on the oft-doomed Don Quixote project. And we should all make sure Parnassus has a big opening weekend so somebody gives him money to make Good Omens, which has a script that Neil and other Terry like but not much else happening.

- Saw folks from Babylon 5 twice, and they were awesome as usual. There was lots of talk about penises.

- Went to two Tom Smith concerts. Talked him into playing Return of the King (Uh Huh).

- Saw tons and tons of awesome costumes. Insane steampunk Vader. Far too many others to remember/talk about. D*C costuming is amazing.

- Patrick Stewart! He's so dreamy. Got into his first panel and it was great. He enjoys trains and the company of Ian McKellen.

- Saw a bit of steampunk-ish band Abney Park. Was pretty good. Should rip the CD akiko bought last year which I never got around to.

- Helped a bit with Hetalia photo-shoot (akiko made a children's-day Hungary costume). Was fun and adorable all around.

- Watched Pete Abrams carefully not say anything about the current story arc of Sluggy Freelance.

- akiko's dad bought us five rounds of drinks. Was kind of ridiculous but very tasty. The Hilton makes a drink with apple and ginger that tastes like Christmas.

- Didn't spend too much this year, but did get some stuff:
-- "How Loathesome", Ted Naifeh's only not-for-kids book. About gender fluidity, among other things. Pretty good.
-- Two transformers on sale cheap: animated Soundwave and classics Silverstreak. First ones I've bought in like 25 years.
-- Little figures: mini Auron, Jigen and a ninja from Cagliostro, broken Hyaku-Shiki, insanely detailed airship from FFX (apparently named "Continental Circus", in a bit of FF trivia I oddly didn't know).
-- At the last minute, snagged a limited edition Sandman statue (the one with him holding up the mask) that normally retails for $195 or more for thirty bucks. Inexplicable, but totally awesome. Now on mantle.

I'm sure more awesome stuff happened but I really need to collapse into unconsciousness now.
