It's been a helluva week. I finished my thesis, got back to Minneapolis, took a day to not move so I could get over my cold, turned in crucial paperwork so I can graduate, did lots of work in the yard. That all makes me feel good ( Read more... )

Just so you're not left wondering, here's the end of the Opera New Jersey story.

Utah Festival called Friday morning. Their offer was to cover (understudy) Dancaire in Carmen and to cover Lancelot in Camelot. I accepted. The fact that this gig pays and comes highly recommended by my friend Kari was the deciding factor.

Here in New York. Going to be as brief as possible.

Monday: Flew in. Got from Newark to Penn Station. Took the subway to my hotel on 86th & Broadway -- with my giant suitcase. Paul is pleased Tanglewood is done, sad Houston said 'no', surprised MnOp said 'yes', disappointed Fred didn't get the job, hopeful for the future, and REALLY FULL.

Also add, "surprised he made it through the sextet unscathed, and relieved to be reconnecting."

Today was the day I've had labeled on my calendar as "Hell day" for the last month. I had the stumble-through of Act I of Yeomen last night, the Act II stumble through this morning, Oklahoma this afternoon, and Desert Song tonight. Now it's done, and I don't anticipate anything this exhausting for the rest of the summer.
