My computer class is trying to melt my brain. There are two main parts to the course: learning the boring-ass basics of computers--the parts of a computer, the details of those parts, peripheral devices, internet connections, etc. YAWN. We got rain last night!! There was a big storm, with heavy winds, lightning, and thunder. It was AWESOME. We ended up with 1.4" near the house. That's the most rain we've gotten since January. And this storm was a fluke, since the high that's been sitting over us for basically all of the year just happened to kick a disturbance our way.  Jack and I agree about one thing: I am decidedly apathetic right now. About everything. I'm also a little hypomanic (hypo-hypomanic?). Just enough to screw with my sleep and make me seriously irritable.

And I'm still awake. I cannot get my brain to shut down, no matter what I do. I lay in the dark, with only my sound soother - set to ocean waves - and night light on, with no success. I tried taking another 2.5mg of vicodin to help. No luck. I just can't sleep ( Read more... )

I've slept all day. Slept almost 12 hours solid. I think I know why. I tried to increase my Inderal (beta-blocker that lowers blood pressure) by just a smidge in order to help my headaches - the thinking is that if you lower your blood pressure, you help prevent migraines caused by inflamed blood vessels - like, I went from 5mg to 7.5mg. There's a reason: one of the medications I was on was making me so tired that I just couldn't function and I ended up spending all of my time lying down/sleeping. We finally have the first named storm of the Atlantic Hurricane season with TS Alex, who is sitting off the coast of Belize at the moment. All of the current computer model runs agree in showing it headed out into the gulf along the Mexican coast and then turning westward toward Brownsville (at the Texas/Mexico border).
