High temperatures are predicted to be in the low 60's today. It was 55 deg F when I left for work. I was very confused about how to dress.

Daylight Savings Time begins this weekend.

We get four personal days a year that we can use to call off work without scheduling in advance. I bank them to use for bad winter weather. When the traffic report on the radio said there were already two accidents by 6am, I decided to take one today. The weather Saturday was sunny and fairly warm (for this time of year). I ran a few errands in the early afternoon, and thoroughly enjoyed being out in the sunshine, so rare for Ohio winters.

The season turns, and winter comes closer. The weather has turned colder and snow flurries are pedicted for the next few days. I am wearing the first turtleneck of the season. I managed to irritate my quadratus lumborum muscle (lower back/sacrum area) yesterday, and it was in spasm when I woke up this morning. I had to sit with a heating pad for an hour or so before it was loose enough so I could walk upright. I got to work a couple of hours late. I am not dealing well with the increasing darkness. I am tired at 7:30 pm because that's when it gets dark now--time to sleep. 6:00am feels more like the middle of the night than morning. I am craving junk food. I'm cranky in the evenings, and my brain feels the pull of depression ( Read more... )

I have lived within a 15 minute drive of Dawes Arboretum for 3 years now, but I have never been…until today. It was a gorgeous day: blue skies, mild temperatures, and the leaves just beginning to change color.

rfunk made an offhand comment yesterday about there possibly being some freakish late April snowstorm. And sure enough, this morning the hills behind our house were frosted with white, and my car was covered with about a quarter inch of heavy, wet snow.
