Okay, I think I want either of these:

The SunRise dawn simulator ($99.95) has a 60 watt bulb that slowly gets brighter over a programmed interval (15, 30, 60, or 90 minutes). [This one is sadly out of stock.]

The Sunrise System ($169.95) does the same, but the light source is a 10,000 lux light box.

I woke this morning to a distant muted drumming of thunder. Through half sleep I listened as the sounds became louder and more distinct. Eventually flashes of lightning accompanied the thunder.
