With one winter storm behind us, another barrels down, having gone from 2-4 inches to now a threatened 18 inches of snow and blizzard conditions. Last Friday's storm left about 6 inches of heavy wet snow, but with a warm weekend at least the roads were cleared quickly. Now we have more...

Ryther's company party, which was going to have abou 24 attendees, what whittled down to a brave group of 9 from the snowstorm that crippled DC yesterday. Luckily we only got about 4-5 inches here, but further south got more, and a number of poeple who tried to make it turned around or just cancleled outright. We got the boy safely back to school for second semester yesterday and then last night the snow started. I was expecting a flurrry, a dusting or so, but no, we got a good 4 inches. Ryther had a flair up in his hip last night. The drug that he is on... 3rd different 'athritis' drug in a year or so, doesn't quite seem to have the strenght of the other ones.. though at the same time, it also doesn't compromise your immune system.. so there is that. Finally the stars aligned and the stove was delivered, and fit in just fine. Me with my bricks and extra wood and shims were completely unneeded. UG. Whatever, it's in. I thought I might have escaped the winter without a cold.. which would be pretty much unheard of.. but no, finally after lying beside the caughing, hacking, snorting husband, I have contracted the sick. At the moment, it's a minor head cold thing.. mostly in my nose, but we'll see where it travels.

Just a note, yesterday I saw my first crocus.... not a day or two after the snow had melted back from the foundation enough to pop out of the ground, there is was... eager and waiting.. impatient as we all are here for spring.
