My crazy friend stopped by a the cemetery today. Unexpectedly. She had her youngest son with her, the one that told me to F-U last time he was here and stayed over. (Just before they left he threw a rock at me and missed, so he's still as charming as ever).

Ryther had a flair up in his hip last night. The drug that he is on... 3rd different 'athritis' drug in a year or so, doesn't quite seem to have the strenght of the other ones.. though at the same time, it also doesn't compromise your immune system.. so there is that. Sadly, it's only taking place inside me. I made the mistake of leaving the heat up last night.. becaus it was supposed to go down to negative numbers and wind chills. Well, I slep horribly, and woke with numbness in my hand to boot... which all compounds. 65 degrees in the house and I'm dying. I think I need to get a fan for my side of the bed.. ( Read more... )

Thankfully my mother is not contesting her stay at rehab. Of course it's not that kind of rehab. She has been moved to her new quarters, which is good because it means shes getting better. 61 degrees and raining on Christmas eve. To date, there has not been a hard freeze in the ground. It got a little crunchy once or twice, but then back to soft pliable earth. Its' the end of December, and there is no snow coat... so that just isnt normal AT ALL. Though if it happens long enough, it becomes normal right? sigh.

Well, we finally got a new matress. After going to Sleepys and being told 'they dont make mattress that you flip" anymore.. we almost settled for a mattress that was pretty firm, but then reallized it was the same name brand that we had been so bitterly dissapointed with before, and had suffered with since. Well, the early morning jaunt to the lock in was fine. I got up no problem after about a 2 hour sleep, then stayed up for 3 hours chatting about silly local politics and movie actors.
