The grass is lush and green, my peas and lettuces are sprouting, and then BAM! yet another year with an April snowstorm. Now mind you, I am really getting used to this. This is the third April snowstorm since 1997. Though considering how incredibly warm it's been this winter, and how green and warm it had gotten in the last few weeks, I figured that was it, we were all set. But no. And while the snow doesnt last, it's still disgusting at this point. Enough! And we have predicitons of a bit more on Sat. joy.
I am woeful on the entries here. I should be all over this with entries about the political farce that is the Presidential race. But alas and alak...
The lad is giving up on computer science and switching to graphic design next year. I was hopeful that computers would be his 'thing' but apparently not. My next hope is he can somehow combine computers and art and do somethign with that. But he's going to have to be ambitious or resourceful to do that I think... and I'm not sure he's that. I was lucky, I fell into my dead end job.
So, my political comentary for today is that the one thing the world needs but doesnt have enough of is jobs. I really see that as the problem. People need jobs. They need decent jobs, but shitty jobs will do in a pinch. But they need work that pays money. We are in short supply of those. More jobs = more taxes = less crime = more jobs = more spending = more saving = happier people... etc. Anyway...
Started watching 'Call the Midwife". Decent show. Walking Dead is done for now, Fear the WD to take it's place. And there is Outlander coming up, GOT soon, Better Call Saul is wrapping up... just finished Daredevil season 2... and have started The Americans from season one. So far so good. So much good TV. And that doesnt even count the stuff Ryther watches on his own as a stare at FB.
I'm stalled on a painting. Since the dog came, I'm not in a painting mood. I feel like I just dont have the time to devote to it, and I'm stuck on the hand and arm and I'm not sure what to do about it.
I did sew a costume cape and hat for the lad. He'll be going to PAX again this year. I should get back into sewing, but that takes space. I have some wonderful material I want to make into some kind of costume jacket/coat, but I need a pattern of some kind and cant quite decide what I want it to look like. I've discovered that the fabulouse 'window dressing' that people leave at our swap is A:fabulous material and B: can be taken appart and you get some great boards out of it too. lol
And again, I appologize that LJ fucked up the spell check that used to automatically pick up the errors and now does nothing. Yay LJ. And no, I'm not going to put this through a filter to catch and correct shit. Just not doing it. Esp. when they used to do it. Pisses me off.
Oh, and walking the dog for 3 weeks.. didnt lose a pound. And I'm trying to walk still but hey, rain sleet and snow.. cuz spring.. right? UG!
