On Friday I had my physical for the new job. It was pretty routine, height/weight, can you do 10 sit-ups, carry 50lbs 50 feet, etc. When the doctor came in she did a basic exam and asked me about past illnesses and injuries, and about any surgeries. I almost forgot the coolest thing about today. We had our team holiday lunch at work today, the 10 of us went to the Sundial Grill for lunch and our weekly team meeting. I just realized that it's been almost a week since I sat down and actually wrote something here. I've just been busy, and the days have been flying by. Work is going extremely well, I started the CWS/CMS training course today, which was really great. I got to work at 7:30 (comp time = good), got my county car, and drove to Orland. It's so wonderful to be living in an area with seasons again. The smells of fall are so incredible. Today I stepped outside, it smells just a little of impending rain, a lot of woodsmoke, and just a touch of damp grass and leaves. I attended the CFLT (do not ask me what this acronym means, as I forgot immediately after being told) annual planning meeting from 9 this morning until almost 3:30 this afternoon. Work is still good. Serra had a good day today at school. There was a box waiting for Serra on the porch from her Grandma Patti when we got home. It's Friday! I'm still loving the job, it's great, even though I feel pretty useless right now. I'm really not doing much of anything, an that kinda sucks, but I am learning stuff, and that is good.
