Inflate my ego some more...
This morning I was sitting at my desk doing payroll when the following conversation occurred between myself and one of the direct care staff:
Robert: I don't like you any more.
Me: What'd I do?
Robert: I heard
Me: Heard wha..? Oh... that I quit?
Robert: Yup. I don't like you any more.
Me: Would you pass up CPS?
Robert: No, but that's totally not the point.
Me: They've already hired my replacement, and I'll be making the transition as smooth as possible.
Robert: So? We don't care about transition, we liked you.
Me: hahaha... well, I met the other women that were up for the job, and they were all very nice, a little older, but nice.
Robert: Older?
Me: Forties or so, you know, older than me.
Robert: Great. Old lady humor.
Me: Yup, no more smarting off to the admin, you'll have to be polite!
Robert: Man.... can't do it.
So nice to feel appreciated.
