It is beautiful here tonight, about 61 degrees right now (1 AM). though it is still 73 in the house. Our house is so well insulated that the evenings are very difficult to cool via windows. Having on the ceiling fans makes it very comfortable.

I appreciate so much all of your comments yesterday. I have resigned myself to the fact that my computer is desperately ill, and I won't use it until it is better. I hope that my daughter, the computer whiz also known as Adriel, will come over and fix it if I pay her gas. It isn't supposed to be snowing today at all, but it is. That's mountain weather for you. It is so beautiful out our windows. Bear had to venture out to get a few staples for us, and had a difficult time carrying the bags and holding onto the handrail going down the hill. It is supposed to be very cold tonight, with snow. That is so early for this area! October 17th and we are going to have snow tonight! Unheard of. Having snow flurries on Hallowe'en isn't unusual, but two weeks earlier certainly is unusual.

It has been sunny, then storming, then sunny, then downpours, then sunny, then thunderstorms... for several days.

As I type this, it is pouring down rain here, and has been for a few hours. There are flood warnings out. We live on the side of a mountain, and the water passes us by (or always has) but there are some really bad areas here in town.

Last night I finished the book Art of Racing in the Rain by Garth Stein. I will be putting up a review later today. I enjoyed it a lot, even though I have no interest in racing cars whatsoever. It wasn't *really* about that anyway ( Read more... )

The rains just keep coming! Today, it hasn't yet rained but it sure looks like it is headed that way. This is really sad because we are hiring Ellen's son, Cody, to come weed-eat our yard.
