It was reaaally hot today. SoCal has been uncharacteristically humid for the last week. It kinda went away today, and instead we had temps in the 90s. It's still warm outside- at 10:30pm! I love evenings like this. If I had more candles I'd be hanging out on my balcony right now.

I have a cold. Hopefully getting over said cold, since I am now on Day 7. The show I stage manage right now is full of young people. I find I tend to get a cold when I work with them.

I planted some lettuce and carrot seeds a week or so ago. The lettuce seedlings popped up quickly! I am just now starting to see some carrot seedlings. The carrots didn't well in the fall, when I had originally gotten the seeds. Hoping for a better try this year ( Read more... )

I've been under the weather all weekend. Not full blown sick, thank goodness. I've been eating soup and drinking lots of hot soothing beverages. My throat is the source of the problem. Back in April, I started my balcony garden. I planted parsley, basil, tomatoes, lavender, sweet peas, lettuce, and baby bell peppers. The sweet peas were gorgeous till about July, when it got too hot. Also, they got mildewy. My lavender is finally flourishing. The lettuce comes and goes. I set my alarm for 5:30am... HA! I bet we'll be out of here by 8am, after we walk down to the car, stop off at the bank, then get gas/breakfast.
