Quite a change from six months!  I hadn't realised just how dramatic the difference was until I looked back on the previous photos.  Most of these plants are ready, or past ready, to be liberated from the tree guards.

Mom drove out here today and helped me give the trees we planted in July their two-month service.  We liberated every single one* from the weeds that had sprung up inside the tree guards and gave them all a health check and a few words of encouragement.  Mom kept surprising me by saying "This one is so CUTE!" at semi-regular intervals (she's not at ( Read more... )

The trees/shrubs/groundcovers/rushes I ordered last year were delivered today and they didn't seem as voluminous as I expected, so I drove to a local tree farm and picked up a few more.  (Actual numbers censored to avoid alarming anyone who's planning to come out to my place next weekend.  Don't worry, we don't have to finish them all.)I'm not ( Read more... )

Instead of being dusty and bone-dry, my place now has rolling green hills with a flowing creek.  It's really pretty!
