Exhibit One:
Instead of being dusty and bone-dry, my place now has rolling green hills with a flowing creek. It's really pretty!
Non-locals: Fine, whatever.
Locals: Uh-oh. ::start to look shifty::
Exhibit Two:
Some of the tiny little trees I planted last July are now ten feet tall! Amazing! The miracle of life!
Non-locals: That's nice.
Locals: We don't like where she's going with this.
You are cordially invited to a tree planting, cleverly disguised as a belated birthday party (March is not a good month out here), on any of the following dates:
Sunday 26 June Sunday 3 July Sunday 10 July
I don't want a present, of course, just your hard labour presence. Mag 7 isn't out on DVD anyway!
(Seriously: the trees will be tiny, palm-of-the-hand tiny. Not much hard labour will be involved. As usual, there will be food, vids and slash canon. And the great outdoors.)
Special incentive: if we can get a critical mass of people on any of those dates, my mother has volunteered to cater. Don't look at me like that, it was her idea, not mine!
My preference would be for one of the earlier dates, so we have a possible fall-back position if the weather is bad. If you are interested but one or more of these dates doesn't suit you, please let me know.
Hope you can make it!
ETA: The 3rd it is. Further details to follow by email.
