Progress Update for Tree Planters

Mom drove out here today and helped me give the trees we planted in July their two-month service.  We liberated every single one* from the weeds that had sprung up inside the tree guards and gave them all a health check and a few words of encouragement.  Mom kept surprising me by saying "This one is so CUTE!" at semi-regular intervals (she's not at ( Read more... )

mmmm Dee goes and askes her mum, who can only think that they are probably a sandplain spp, not suited to the hills, maybe badger ask your nursery.

Anytime you feel like having people over at your house again I'm perfectly happy to drive for a few hours and come work!!!

The Greening Australia people recommended all the varieties I ordered, but I've just noticed that Running Postman (and a few of the other varieties, argh) is supposed to be non-salt tolerant. That's probably the problem!

Thanks for the offer of help! If you aren't in Europe or Canada, I might just take you up on it! I could use people with invincible boots...

You know, I keep planting stuff in my garden and it keeps dying. Even the geraniums which are meant to be hardy. I am impressed taht most of yours are still alive.

I'm generally pretty hopeless at gardening too, but I am hugely invested in the success of my seedlings! I'm afraid I might have bitten off more than I can chew this year, though.

Try cacti, maybe? I bought one at the 2004 Pride Fair and it's been great. It bakes away in a tiny pot on my front porch and never looks any the worse for wear.
