I wasn't sure what had happened. It seemed so sudden. I had been walking around town just drawing energy from casual glances. Then something pulled at me. It wasn't what I had thought it was. At first my instincts said the spell that Amy and Tucker had failed. That whatever wanted me before was making another attempt. Although it was different this time. It wasn't weakening me. It was making me stronger. Whatever was going on somehow felt like a good thing ( ... )

So it wasn't exactly like I didn't have anything better to do with my night. I mean, I could have just as easily stayed in and continued working on .. some projects or something. Tucker was never around anymore, which was great because it meant I always had the room to myself. Besides, it wasn't like the Bronze was that cool or anything anyway. I'd been there a couple of times once back in high school. I didn't actually go inside or anything, but I pretty much got a feel for the whole scene just walking by. I just felt sorry for Andrew is all. When I got his message, he sounded so pathetic. I couldn't really blame him, either. Really, the kid was hanging out with Jonathan Levinson for crying out loud. Besides, Andrew had always been a sore subject for Tucker -- a fact that I could always use to my advantage sometime down the line if I were to befriend Andrew now. After all, I still owed Tucker for that whole stomach virus thing back at Dutton ( ... )

I realized (as I was on my third guy) that arcade Joust was way different than on a home gaming system. On Atari, I could ruin it, but here -- I was just flailing. But, I had a pocket full of quarters and this game hadn't seen the last of me. No ho ho. This game would bow to my fury! Just as soon as I got my Joust groove back. Oh yeah ( ... )

"Damn!"

My eyebrows lifted as I watched Andrew throw his little tantrum after his last guy was defeated. Not quite the reaction I'd been expecting, but it was amusing enough to watch him throw a fit over losing a game of Joust. Apparently he hadn't recognized my voice because when he turned to face me, he looked more than a little surprised to see me standing there.

"Oh! Hey! Yeah, um. I was trying out a new technique and... yeah. It didn't work.""Of course you were," I decided to humor him while he made himself a bit more comfortable up against the machine he'd just been playing. So far it seemed every one of Tucker's stories about his annoying little brother were turning out to be pretty spot-on. Kind of sad, when you think about it. This kid seemed nothing like Tucker, and yet they were both brought up in the same household, with the same parents. Then again, Tucker was a sociopath, so that might have had something to do with the difference in their personalities. Slowly, I took a look around the crowd of gamers. Thankfully there ( ... )

I was a little upset and I had no right to be. Well I guess I had some right, but really I was just being childish. But she's in my room! My room! College is just college it's not abandoning home, hell I live in town still ( ... )

So I had been early. Early was good though, except when the girl isn't ready yet. So I was patient guy. I waited for Charlie to finish getting ready, even though she looked amazing without the extra make-up I wasn't going to stop her. So when she was ready we headed out. My own car had lost pretty much it's engine when I tried my last trip, so lucky for me Mom and Dad were passed out on the couch and didn't mind so much when I took the keys to their car ( ... )

I'd watched them come in, saw Xander do the stare thing. Didn't mean to act like such a girl with the waving and ... yeah I was in desperate need of fun. And a date, a nice normal date with non deepish soul stirring eyes.

They managed to come over to the table finally and Xander planted himself between Charlie and me.

"So, Buffy how did that scene go? Did your Mom know what it was from?" I looked at him ( ... )

At first I thought we weren't talking all code-speak, although it could be that I had overdone it yet again.

"She knew, and thought I needed to find out some more about my motivation, you know, Moms."

I smiled at her, the thing is that I knew Mom's, but none like hers. Mine was mostly complaining that she wasn't ever part of anything in the house. Even though she made most the plans. Buffy's Mom? That was a different story. She was lucky, plus she had a sister to share the trouble with. At the Harris household, it was either me or the cat. To bad the cat ran away three years ago.

"I'm going to look into it in the morning. Tonight is about the funage, you know I've totally forgotten about the funage. It didn't help that we have a new resident in the Summers house. Mom's given my room away to one of Dawn's school friends. Her parents moved and it's her senior year... so Mom... gave my room to her. But I'm ok with it, seriously I mean ..."I went to laugh, but then I saw the serious in her face and the matching tone to it. Wow. Ms. ( ... )

My mind was still swimming after the meeting with Walsh. I wasn't back nearly a month and I was already heading a mission. This was definitely going to be a good year. Or at least it was going to be a good one if I could pull off a clean mission. I leaned over and grabbed my purse off of the passenger seat and then glanced at the clock. The squad was supposed to assemble in front of the Bronze at 19:00 hours and it was only 6:45. I still had fifteen minutes until show time. I flipped down my visor and glanced in the mirror. Now this was definitely a new one for me. You know, being all dressed up in essentially club wear to take out a hostile. I pulled out my lip gloss and ran the tip over my lips, watching as they began to sparkle. Good thing I had no problem dressing up every now and then ( ... )

I got over waiting for Ri and Graham to get ready and decided to bounce without them. At the rate Ri was going on about not heading the mission, we were never going to get out of there. The boy needs to learn when to chill and get the hell over himself. It's one damn mission with a hot succubus involved. I think he could let it slide for once ( ... )

I had to admit, I was pretty surprised when Forrest took off without us. He'd been acting as though we weren't going to make it to the rendezvous point on time, when we had a good half and hour left to get there. I think Graham called him out spot-on. He was just in a rush to go see that ( ... )

I couldn't help but to grin and shake my head as Riley and I approached Forrest and Agent Hayes. Forrest really didn't care who it was he moved in on so long as he was getting it somewhere, did he? I'd have to be sure to give him some hell for it later. I'm sure it must've rubbed Riley the wrong way, too. After all, that was his best friend moving in on his supposed 'arch-nemesis.' Should be interesting to see how he reacted to the whole scenario, anyway.

"You two seem to be getting pretty chum-y," I heard Riley address the two of them while I came up beside him. Glancing in his direction, all of the humor I'd previously found in the situation seemed to leave pretty quickly. Man, he wasn't seriously mad, was he? Forrest was just being Forrest. Surely he didn't expect anything less. Besides, he probably wasn't even flirting with her. Maybe. Rather than do nothing, and allow the scene to escalate, I decided to intervene then and there ( ... )

Okay so going out the window wasn't as bad as I had imagined. At least I was in pants. Poor Dawn. But hey, she looked really cute in my dress. Sure she looked a little uncomfortable, but hey, beauty is pain right? Or is that the other way around? Oh whatever I know what I mean at least ( ... )

The drive over my stomach was in knots the whole time. Not only was I in a dress that was too tight and pulling my stomach in an awkward manner, but I had lied to Mom, climbed out a window and now I am sneaking into a club that I am not old enough to get into. Taylor though? Calm and cool as a cucumber.

She pulled into the parking lot and turned of the engine. I think I was sweaty. She reached into her purse and pulled out her lipstick. She reapplied and handed it over to me.

"Here, touch up your lipstick."I flipped the visor and took a look in the vanity mirror. It didn't look like I needed more, but I did it anyway. I passed it back to here, and watched as she got out of the car. I was a bit less sure of myself, but once I saw her walking towards the entrance so confident I knew I needed to step up. So step up I did. Held my head high, and tried to walk like Taylor was. I didn't look at anyone else, trying to keep up the posture that I was better than them. Sure I was a freshman... but only because of my birthday... I bet I could ( ... )

Dawn looked really uncomfortable having an alcoholic beverage in her hand. My guess is that she's never had one before. Well she is really young so I guess that could be the reason. But drinking alcohol isn't about the buzz, at least not for me. It's about the image you're present to the older crowd around you. No alcohol basically means you're either a prude or so trying to fake it.

"So then the professor tried to fail me, but I called them on their antiquated ways citing Goldberg."Wait, did I just roll my eyes? Oh yes that's right I think I did. "You know it's too bad all you can do is regurgitate information instead of actually understanding it. Let me guess. You have a couple of books highlighted with important sounding quotes that can make you seem intellectually superior in front of women right?" I watched as the guy's face fell. "Yeah, that's what I thought. Come on Dawn ( ... )
