Kitchen help needed
So, I am doing the feast for Ponte Alto's event on Febryary 15th.
And I need a kitchen staff. Seriously, I need one. Anyone want to help in the ktichen?
(And yes, I know that there are no "day-trip" prices to the event. I want to have a convo about that w/ teh autocrat if it is a serious issue for anyone who wants to work.) -
Genealogy updates
So, it took a bit, but I figured out how to clean up my census citations. I think the multiple upgrades to FTM software (and not cleaning the citations up each time) is the root of my problem. I know how to fix them -- but it will require a lot of work. I will still have to re-do many of the searches. That is not a bad thing, given that in the ( Read more... ) -
More genealogical mess to fix?
So, in doing some more "researching" into my current genealogical mess, I also stumbled upon the issue of place names. In that a few years ago I standardized them using FTM (and there were a lot of errors in them at that time). But now I am wondering that might not have been the best thing to do. Do I have the time to fix this?
I've come to the very sad conclusion that a good portion of my citations in my genealogy software are seriously messed up. And it will take a lot of work to clean them up.
This is a result of 30+ years of being interested in it (20+ of it in a computerized form). There is the "bad" research/citations from my pre-teen/teen years. There is the attempt ( Read more... ) -
Cleaning up Genealogy citations
Specifically, cleaning up US census citations in Family Tree Maker.
Let me explain. I have been an on-again, off-again person when it comes to research. And to citing. After all, I started researching in 1982 or so. Not that I'm really proud of anything I did then -- I was twelve and had much to learn about the ways of the Force. :)

Crown update
2nd event in a row that was really good. :) I like this trend.
I wasn't sure that it would be good earlier. The weather was looking questionable, and the logisitcs of moving indoors and how we (i.e. wyvern_or and I) would handle the hospitality under the Stierbach tent was getting interesting. Freecycle mini-rant
I really don't get the inability of people to read the full text of an email. When I list something on freecycle I include a brief information message after the paragraph describing the item(s). Here it is:

Updates from the Home Front
I have a plan. I have a belief. I think I can reclaim my living room and dining room.
For those who do not remember, my living room got taken over last August by the stuff from my dad's house. And then due to various family issues with my sisters, the stuff has been sitting there. A pitiful small amount sold at a yard sale last fall. A bit more ( Read more... ) -
