So, the 1 year anniversary of my father's death found me shovelling the driveway from massive snow, while we had no power because the generator was non-functioning.

Somehow, that seems, fitting.

Now all I need to do is reclaim my living room from the stuff rom his house.

I'm amazed at how the memories/feelings of long past events can sometimes well up to the surface again.  I thought I had put that thing past me, but last night I found myself in tears again.  Sadness and regret and wondering why.  A tinge of anger directed at someone who might have unknowlingly(?) caused me harm ( Read more... )

I always find it odd how attatched people are to Ren Fairs.  I mean, American history begins post-period for the supposed time frams for them so there is no historical link of continuity there.

So, I've been having an interesting time adding people to my Facebook account.  It has been a good way to catch up with people from High School -- most of whom I thought I never wanted to see or hear from again.  How things change.  Wait, let me explain, because the reasons why I didn't want to see people ever again were not the normal ones.....

Because I can tell him my deepest and trues feelings (even if they make me cry to admit them) and he will listen and not belittle them.  Whether or not they are true, they are my feelings and so in some sense they are true.  He listens when it counts.
