So I've seen the latest two episodes of Doctor Who.   I liked "The Curse of the Black Spot".  It wasn't amazing, but I liked the way the Doctor had to keep revising his theories, and it was a nice breather after the massive two-part opener.

Much busier week than I expected.  Amy was out of town, but Tuesday I went over to Kristin's, Wednesday Robin came over, Thursday Kristin came over, and then Friday was Geek Night.  All of which is why I haven't responded to comments.

I decided what to use my ThinkGeek gift certificate on.  I got the Blue Canary in the Outlet by the Light Switch (well, we don't have any outlets next to light switches, but it'll be handy in the kitchen) and a tribble.  The tribble's great.  It's the perfect size and a nice shade of brown, and it purrs when you give it a light smack.  (Batteries ( Read more... )

Got some interesting gifts this year.  Annie made me a Moebius scarf - well, more like a Moebius wrap, as it's very large.  And maroon.  And snuggly.  She used a thick, smooth wool yarn, you see.  I have a feeling I'll be wearing it around the house a lot come next winter ( Read more... )

Yesterday, after the debacle that was our concert last weekend, Z introduced us to music for our next concert, and he chose to start us off with "The Heavens are Telling" by Haydn.  Which is Baroque and very straightforward, with only a little chromaticism near the end, and we sightread it with only a few mistakes, and it was wonderful.  Refreshing ( Read more... )

Today was a Cleaning Day.  Aside from laundry, I dusted and vacuumed my room, dusted the living room, and did various bits of picking up and putting away around the house.  It felt nice.
