One of the things I love about astronomy is that we humans have been documenting the stars for so long that modern astronomers get useful information from data collected centuries ago. Today's
Astronomy Picture of the Day talks about how the light from Cassiopeia A's supernova reached Earth 330 years ago. Which is way before computers and spaceflight, when telescopes were in their infancy. We have a giant orbiting computerized telescope we can point at things, but we could not replace the information gathered by some earthbound human taking notes with a quill as he watched the skies.
Have had a long talk with God today. I wish I wouldn't forget how good it is to meditate.
I have decided that you can keep your fancy-schmancy cold/sore throat/laryngitis remedies: the quickest way to singing again is hot lemonade. (Well, the humidifier is probably helping too...)
