I love my car. Have I ever mentioned that?
I am always amazed at what I can cram into my little Volkswagen. We could not fit the old recliner that's older than me into my Jetta, but hot damn, I can fit an entire drum set or two bookshelves (not dismantled, mind you) with room to spare for more. What a week.
This week has been ridiculous. Here's why:
1) On Wednesday night, I watched the Stanley Cup game with friends at a bar on campus. Nearly everyone at the the bar was from the Chicago-land area except for the three guys at one table cheering for Philly midway through the game. The squirrel quotient has risen to three. The other day I found Shadow staring down three squirrels - the one from this winter and two smaller ones - checking out my flower pots that I placed on the porch again because of the damned bugs. Going for the positives in life
- I've applied to a handful of jobs and inquired about a few others. I missed out on applying to an alternative (ie not art or academic) job, but that's okay.

Yesterday and the day before* were "blah" days of way too much sleep / lounging without being productive or feeling motivated to do much of anything. Therefore, today I've decided to be productive and create a mini-list of "Things I need to do to make life better." - Visiting the brother and his wifey was good. They put some things in perspective. They gave me a delicious cupcake and cupcake truffle. We didn't plant plants but talking on the porch on the first great summer evening was a treat. I came home to find kitty well and not lying in a puddle of fur and sweat.

Break time!
- The final exam on Wednesday went off without a hitch. Boy, was it ever a long one. Grading them has been good except for the random comments. Sometimes they are cute and sometimes they are... well, sympathetic is what would best describe them. EDIT: GRADING IS DONE!! RAWR! Ah, afternoon spring cleaning... I have books on shelves again. <3 Also, talking to my mom while grocery shopping is a win-win in my book.
Need to do:
- Return books to IUB & TIS that I do not want to keep. 1 donated to Prisoners; 3 sold for $8 (srsly?! argh!); kept 3
- Drop off clothes at a Goodwill or Salvation army. They took the printer! ( Read more... )
