I am always amazed at what I can cram into my little Volkswagen. We could not fit the old recliner that's older than me into my Jetta, but hot damn, I can fit an entire drum set or two bookshelves (not dismantled, mind you) with room to spare for more. Whenever I pack up to move, lil' Ludwig the Jetta can usually hold all of my clothes, the telephone bookcase, cleaning supplies, and other oddbits. AND that's with still being able to see out the rear view window.
The only thing I don't like about lil' Ludwig isn't his fault... It's the afternoon thunderstorms that keep hitting Champaign with 2-5" inches of rain in 30 minutes. Volkswagens are front heavy and ride low to the ground so when streets (or parking garages) flood, I panic over my lil' baby. Yes, I'm silly, but when the cross streets outside your apartment turn into a small creek and there is an equal amount of water in the parking garage that goes over your ankle in parts...
Y'know, I feel like I take my life into my hands walking into my parking garage. The water down there stands for half a day so I can't drive anywhere. Exposed drywall has rotted away in places or is covered in white and black mold. The parking garage never dries out properly so it smells horrible. Heck, there's a small tree about 12" tall growing next to a cement pillar.
... Ludwig, Shadow, and I need to find somewhere new to hang out, me thinks.
