Wow! It's been a crazy month. We were so glad to have our power back for Christmas. Even with cutting back, the kids had a great time. We got Maddy's old train table out from the basement and brought it upstairs for Alex's trains. He was thrilled, and has played with it every day. Posting from the iphone. Power went out Thursday night around 11 pm. We have heat (the wood stove) lights (camping battery operated lanterns) and communications (2 regular cell phones and the iphone). Dinner the last two nights has been take out. Ok, I'm exhausted.  Monday I went and shadowed at the ophthalmologist's office. They told me they'd call me later in the week and they had someone else coming in to shadow also. I had felt pretty good about the day, so was hopeful. I got a call the next morning with the job offer, which I of course accepted.

So far I've visited two home daycares. I liked both, however the first one is a no go, because the playroom is a finished, but UNHEATED addition. I was FROZEN when I left. It was open to the rest of the house, and there was a heater going in a child safe spot, but still, and it's where the kids nap, not to mention, it's more than we currently pay ( Read more... )
