Emergency trip to Universal Studios
We decided to get Universal Studios passes this year. I did OK on my tax return so that is our big treat. However, Len noticed that the paper said something about the passes being good for a year but an additional six months if we activated them by April 4. So I've been working with Ciaran in a 4th grade math book and we just started reviewing TIME last night. It told Ciaran we were going to do an exercise on "elapsed time."

Setbacks
Well, we seem to be catching/fighting off a flu here. Len is home from school today and I'm working from home to keep him company. He's capable of looking after himself but he gets lonely, which I understand. He's not needy, he just likes knowing there's someone in the house. Poor guy has a nasty cough ( Read more... ) -
Weekend plus
ICUT training on Saturday went well. Len got his certification. I'm waiting for mine for a month till they do the practical part again. They only had time to test about half of us on Saturday and I wanted to make sure more cadets got the practical. Len went first though so he was the guinea pig and he did really well ( Read more... ) -

CAP shenanigans
Len and I went to CAP last night, as we normally do on Tuesdays. His uniform looks amazing on him. We have further training on Saturday, for communications, where we'll learn how to operate the radios and other comm equipment CAP uses. Weekend!
This past Friday I took my kids and also my nephew Fred to see Marvel Universe Live: Age of Heroes. My kids and I had seen the original show when it came to town a few years ago, so I had resolved then that if it ever came back to town, I would take the kids again and also include Fred. Civil Air Patrol
Well, it's official. After a few trial meetings, Len has decided to join Civil Air Patrol, which as you might expect from its name, is the civilian branch of the Air Force.
