I returned yesterday from the City Year basic training retreat at Camp Wabanna. I had a magnificent time and am THRILLED about beginning my year of service. Tomorrow, City Year gets off to its real start. We'll go in for our second day of orientation for fingerprinting, signing up for food stamps, deferring school loans, and learning more about the seven possible teams we can sign up for. Well, I finished Camp CBI on Friday. All in all, camp was a great experience. I learned a lot about working with kids, especially 7- and 8-year-olds. Prior to this summer, my experience had mainly been with 11-13-year-olds, and now I realize that there are major differences. This weekend was fairly excellent! On Saturday I slept in a bit, enjoyed lunch with my dad, and then drove to Nova to see Jessica!
