First 1.5 weeks

It's not that I haven't been thinking about updating my LJ, it's been that I haven't had the time! I never get home before 6:30 (on the days I head straight home), and I try to get in bed by 10:30/11:00 - after eating dinner, talking to my parents (when I have time), talking to Jessica, checking and responding to email, and taking care of Temple Sinai business, it's all I can do to *check* "extra" websites let alone update them. :) But, today we have a bit of "free time" at the office, and since I've finished all my work, I can make a post!

So, things are going swimmingly here in DC. I continue to love my living situation, and even moreso am I loving my work here in City Year. We've finally moved into team training, and the HOPE team has certainly hit the ground running. On Monday, our first day of team training, we ended up on the campus of Howard University taking surveys of condom usage and passing out condom packs that we had assembled. Yesterday, we learned the material of a short (<1 hour) HIV 101 presentation and practiced teaching each other. Today was a l o n g session on STDs 101 that was fairly taxing (but we finished early = free time!).

Oops, I'd write more, but it's time for my (awesome) team to circle up (and maybe head home early????), so I'll head out. Post any questions you have!

Peace!
