Live from Hattiesburg
Well, I have been in Hattiesburg, MS since yesterday for the Mississippi Library Association Annual Conference. The conference has been held on the campus of the University of Southern Mississippi, where I received my Master of Library Science degree in 1990. Labor Day Weekend indeed
We spent the weekend tearing apart every closet and storage area we have in the house looking for a journal that John had inherited from his grandmother. He last saw the book when we changed dressers to give Karen's dresser to her after their divorce. That was in 2000 or 2001 ( Read more... ) -
This week will be a lonely one...
Last week, we moved from the back office area of the library out to the public service area, so repairs could be started in the back. They have cut all the moldy sheet rock out, and new sheet rock will be put up probably in the next week. Then they will have to paint, carpet, and get the new furniture in the back before we can move back ( Read more... ) -

After John and Maco got back from their fishing trip, they were both beat. John caught about a dozen fish, and Maco and his friend caught some. The two fishermen were unimpressed with their catch, which amounted to about 50 lbs of fish. John's description of the fishing trip is on Syncboard.

John's wrap-up of Mobicon
Due to circumstances beyond our control, we had to cancel our plans to do a "promotional room" at Mobicon on Friday night. An old friend of mine died last week, and his memorial service was scheduled for Friday night, and I had to work at Bridgefest for a couple hours on Saturday morning.

Crawfish Festival weekend one
We went with friends from Louisiana to the Crawfish Festival at the Coliseum on Friday evening. We arrived about 7 PM. After we walked around checking out the food and other vendors, we all settled on crawfish plates, which were about $10 each.
