More than a week later, and still sick. The fever has been gone for awhile, but I'm still feeling pretty miserable. I can't sleep, with all the coughing and nose-blowing. It's driving me out of my mind. I went to the doctor on Wednesday. She said it was probably viral, but gave me an antibiotic prescription in case. I haven't filled it yet, ( Read more... ) -

I woke with a fever of 101 this morning. Awesome. Lucien was up during the night for the third night in a row with croup. Since he doesn't have a hoarse voice or stridor during the day, they won't let me give him some of the steroid medicine we have. Gift advice
I am working on a 10th anniversary gift for my husband. It's a scrapbook with lots of photos of us and some poems i wrote. Our anniversary is tomorrow, though, and I will not have it finished. Should I wrap it and give it to him tomorrow and tell him i need to keep working on it, or should I wait and give it to him when it's done? we have plans ( Read more... ) -
Been Awhile
I took the kids to the Wool and Fiber festival over the weekend. We had a good time. I love being out with the kids. Lucien has been doing better outside, although he still won't race to go outside and play like he used to, and he is always relieved when we take the car rather than walking or go someplace inside. Reflections on Parenting
Things have been hard here. There's a lot going on - Mireille is getting more and more alert and curious, and wanting to be with me, and only me, a bit more. Lucien is learning to use the potty, and doing quite well with it. He is also being very THREE. And let's be honest, everyone I talk to agrees that "terrible twos" are a myth. Here I am, with a little time to myself, and I can't quite get it together to do much of anything productive. I did send a couple of emails I've needed to send, and I organized a to-do list for various things I have going on. Garbage
Brian is in DC at the antiwar protest. I wish I could be there too. But, alas. I look forward to the day when we can bring the kids with us and go as a family. Today has not begun well, either. between a rock and a hard place
A month or so ago I got a call from the office that I did the oceanography summer camps through last year. They wanted to see if I would consider doing the camps again this year. They were really trying to find a male for the position, they already have a female counselor, but were having trouble. Today they called and offered me the position. ( Read more... )
