It looks like Brian might have shingles. He doesn't have a rash . . . yet, but other symptoms are consistent. I've had chicken pox before, so I can't get it from him. I'm worried about the kids, though. Mireille is so little, and we haven't vaxed Lucien yet. As far as I can tell it is only contagious through contact with the rash, unlike cp ( Read more... ) -
sick house
On the heels of my stomach virus, I caught Brian's cold, which Lucien also had. Sunday night, Lucien's turned into croup. At least this time that did not mean a trip to the ER. He was miserable on Monday, and the doctor gave us some of the steroid med for croup to get through the next couple of nights. He's doing much better now ( Read more... ) -
the chain letters start young!
Lucien got a letter in the mail for a "sticker club." It's one of those things where you send something to the first person on the list (stickers, in this case) then send a copy of the letter to six other kids. We actually got it from a very good friend of mine, so I want to follow through on it so that her kids will be sure to get some stickers ( Read more... ) -
holding my breath
I spent all of yesterday sick in bed. Fortunately, it was the last day of Brian's February break, so he was here to take care of me and the kids. Mireille slept most of the day with me. I am feeling better today, must have been a 24 hour stomach virus. I am still a bit wary of eating anything, though, and feeling a bit weak. I'm really hoping ( Read more... ) -

okay, why do i appear to be having a period right now? I am nursing, my friends, isn't that supposed to keep the bleeding at bay for a few months??? also, i'm on my own with the kids this weekend. not good timing. not at all. -

I think Mireille has some sensitivity to soy and dairy. Not a major thing, but enough to make me want to eat them only occasionally until she (hopefully) grows out of it. Bummer ( Read more... ) -

sleepy girl
Mireille has been sleeping all day. Should I be worried about this? Yesterday she had a little trouble sleeping, so I am hoping she is just catching up. She seems to be herself otherwise. I added soy back into my diet Friday, and I am having trouble deciding if that is having any effect on her. My guess is that it would be clear if it had a ( Read more... )
