Using the narrow roller frame, extension, and ladders, continued to work on applying the 1st coat of stain to the sides of the roof wood "between the slats."

Slow but steady progress. Worked on it for about 3hrs on Saturday, but did a full 8hrs on Sunday.

Huzzah! I finished applying the second coat of stain to the entire pergola roof!

Mother Nature was kind, and the weather remained overcast for the entire pergola roof re-staining session this morning. Finished shortly before noon.

Purchased another gallon of stain yesterday morning, then did a 4.5hr session of applying the 2nd coat of stain to the pergola roof.

Today, finished applying the 2nd coat of stain to half of the pergola roof. Finished using the second gallon of stain. Huzzah!

Each session was about five hours.

Doing a "top down" approach. So both sessions were devoted to getting the 1st layer of stain onto the roof of the pergola.

back yard wood pergola - re-staining project

Using my 6ft ladder, went to clean the top wood "roof" of the back yard pergola. The length of the broom/patio brush did not reach to the center of the top of the pergola.

1. Behr Premium Solid Color Waterproofing Stain & Sealer
2. Olympic Elite Advanced Stain + Sealant
