back yard wood pergola - re-staining project - roof re-staining completed

Huzzah! I finished applying the second coat of stain to the entire pergola roof!

Mother Nature was kind, and the weather remained overcast for the entire pergola roof re-staining session this morning. Finished shortly before noon.

So now, with the roof section completed, I can continue to re-stain the rest of the structure.

Decided will do so with a "top down" approach. So now, with the top wood surface completed, will stain the next parts of the wood closest to the roof, then the underside of the roof, etc etc etc.

Well, rats: the gap between the pergola roof slats is too narrow for the full-diameter 3inch roller frame to fit between. Had to go to Mission Hardware and purchase a narrower roller frame and rollers.

They had a "Jumbo Mini Roller Frame" and roller brushes, 4inches wide. This roller + 4inch brush also can fit into a standard 1gallon can, to dip. Has a diameter of 3/4inch, so will be able to fit between the roof slats, and paint the sides of the roof wood, and other tight clearance areas of the pergola. Made sure to purchase a roller where the handle is female threaded, so I can continue to use an extension pole with it.
