All re-staining complete. All wood preservative treatments complete. All furniture moved back under it. Can now resume hanging out there, or BBQ-ing there, and enjoying it.

Applied wood preservative to the bottom three feet and base of all six vertical support pillars.

The Copper Green Brown wood preservative looks like dark soy sauce. Is thin in viscosity.

I used disposable 2inch wide foam "brushes." Would transfer about a measuring cup amount into a glass peanut butter jar. Then, keeping the jar in one hand, ( Read more... )

One recommendation was for

Finished re-applying stain to the remaining areas of the vertical support pillars.

So, at this moment in the project, everywhere that needed stain re-applied, has had stain re-applied.

The roof of the pergola has received two coats of stain. The remainder of the structure has received one coat of stain.

Still need to re-stain three vertical support pillars on one side (the side facing the house).

Still need to apply wood preservative to all six vertical support pillars, from ground level to three feet.

But, that's all! Once the above two portions are complete, the re-staining project will be complete!

After a bit of a hiatus for a few weeks, finally resumed my back yard pergola re-staining project.

Got out there at 7:30a this morning, and finished re-staining the last support crossbeam.

Now all the roof, and supporting structure fully re-stained.

Might be 100% complete by the end of the next weekend or so!

Roof completed. Half of the remaining structure has been re-stained.

Now need to sweep underneath the completed portion, relocate all the outdoor furniture to be under the completed portion, then continue until the entire structure is re-stained.

Have finally, _finally!_ finished re-staining all the wood surfaces of the pergola roof. Top, all sides, and bottom of the roof wood has a coat of stain. The side that faces the sky has two coats of stain.
