The sun was up and here he was playing mind games with a stupidly smart alien girl. This is why he kept his mouth shut before. Before he could think more, she started talking again, “You should know when I’m lying, so I’ll say it outright. I know everything. So can you just confirm things so we can get back to avoiding each other and having sex sometimes?”
He felt like she just lured him into a false sense of security but he couldn’t deny that she wasn’t lying. Though, he thought she would be more upset when she found out everything, maybe it was over shadowed by the injuries. Jonghyun looked straight at her and said, “Well if you know everything why are we even still talking about it.”
“What did you have a plan of action or something in place? I think I can help.”
She had a point. They might as well work together for once. He looked down at his shirt and made a face at the blood there. “Well we could go back to the bar and see if Jessica shows up again.”
“What so she can threaten us to death? I knew she was the mastermind I didn’t think she would go around telling the key players.”
He chuckled, “Well it’s not very accurate but I think she could probably talk anyone into a coma. She was pretty happy to tell me all about it.”
“So Jessica came to you directly and told you outright that she was the one that set this whole thing up?” Sayu ate some more of her noodles and continued, “I thought it was strange you knew about it before I did, I mean, I have some pride in what I do after all.” Jonghyun drew his brows together, skeptical. Still, she kept on, “That explains why you were on edge too, she sent Joon here just as she spoke to you to make you freak out. So it was all Jessica.”
“What a fucking minute, did you just lie to me a minute ago?” Bondeds can’t lie, right? That was always a thing. She didn’t know about Jessica? No she had to; this was word games or something.
Sayu smiled, “You said I was a good liar, don’t change your mind just because we’re bonded.” She looked so smug he wanted to hit her. Sayu stood with her bowl and continued, “I’m assuming Jessica wants to kill me to get back at you and now I’m certain she was the one that set up those guys to bond us then separate us. Since she told you in order to make you angry and now I know she sent Joon here as part of the plot. I just don’t know why she picked me of all people. Which is what I intend to ask her when I meet her in a little while.”
She started to walk towards the kitchen and Jonghyun shot up after her. “What? Don’t! What if she just offs you right there?”
“I am risking it, but I don’t think she will. If she did it now it wouldn’t have as great an effect, right? Since you haven’t… well my blood would strengthen our bond, so she optimally would wait until then.”
“Just, no.”
Sayu drank from her bowl as she stood next to the sink then dumped out the rest. She continued, “I don’t see why you would be opposed to this course of action. It’s the most direct and effective.”
Jonghyun leaned on the counter next to her, “I’m going with you.”
“The sun is going to be up still so I would advise against that.”
“Then we’ll wait until nightfall, ‘cause fuck your plan it’s stupid.”
“I’m going alone because she isn’t likely to talk with you around. You’re right, she could kill me now. But you’d be better off for it in the long run. I know you’ve thought about it.” She turned to him, thinning her lips before she said, “If my plan goes south then everyone still alive gets what they want.”
That statement was so true it hurt.
