Notes “Dammit stop crying, would you rather be dead?!” Jonghyun gripped Sayu’s arms, enough that it hurt. She didn’t even try to stop and she spoke through her tears.
“You would rather that I, be, ‘cause, you don’t bond and,” she said with hiccups and trailed off, not wanting to say more. She could feel it, he wanted to kill her. It was a terrible feeling to know that about a person. But he wasn’t a person, he was a vampire, and they were bonded through some extraordinary measures. An incident. An accident.
She would be dead soon.
Whatever happened to bond them, they were separated during and only just now were reunited. Well, it had been a few weeks. Jonghyun had kept hoping they would kill her, so he wouldn’t have to. She was scared, terrified, but he could feel she was trying to suppress it. Accept it. Something she knew so much about, she knew everything already. She didn’t ask questions, she merely felt like she was confirming things. Sayu felt strangely energized. Something like, this is what they were talking about; this is how it really feels. But she was defeated. Too bad I won’t get to tell anyone in detail, this information won’t get told to anyone.
Scared, excited, disappointed. Sayu was a frightening girl. Jonghyun let go of her, he may not have a bond strong enough to know more than vague feeling from her, but he knows what that feels like just the same. After all, Onew thought the same of him at one time. And he remembers that feeling the most. He suddenly felt guilty and muttered, “Sorry.”
Sayu nodded, believing, and then looked around the room before she lifted up the hem of her shirt, drying her eyes and trying to calm down. Her belly was exposed and in the place they were in, he could see goose bumps form. Jonghyun realized he was looking too long when she dropped her shirt and pulled down on it. “So,” she started, “What is my fate? I don’t have any power in this situation.” Her rationality won over, it seemed, as she stared at him for an answer to her probing question. Those big eyes were red and puffy, her nose was full of snot but she couldn’t bring herself to use her shirt to take care of that, and the rest of her was shabby and dirty. So unattractive.
She was hungry and sore and cold. “You’re pitiful,” he sighed and turned away, moving for the door. He stopped at the opening then tilted his head and said, “Come along, pet. Let’s get you washed up and fed.” Sayu’s expression didn’t change but he could feel a tiny bit of happiness coming from her. Such a human. Honestly if he hadn’t known her before all this mess he wouldn’t have bothered looking for her, or even probably would have given her to the Council, or to someone else to kill for him. But fuck that pain. This happened. She’s not a terrible excuse for a person and she’s already proven to be not boring in how she handles things.
This could be interesting.
